Colin Bowles, of Albany, Georgia will return to Mt. Vintage Plantation to defend his 2017 title. The 2016 Georgia State Amateur champion and recent Ohio State signee will be joined by fellow Georgian and 2016 co-champion, Will Kahlstorf, of Watkinsville, in the field of 68 boys from three states trying to capture the title in the 10th edition of this great event. The two champions will try to do what no other boy has been able to do, capture a second title before moving on to the collegiate amateur competition. The field will include 18 of the top 25 juniors from South Carolina and 12 of the top 25 juniors from North Carolina.
In the girls division, two-time Beth Daniel player of the year in South Carolina, Gracyn Burgess, of Lexington, emerges as the favorite to capture her first CGJC title. The Clemson signee captured numerous tournament titles in 2017 and looks to add to her collection in 2018. Elle Johnson of Inman and Michelle Harn of Charlotte will be on hand to challenge for the title. Johnson and Harn are no strangers to Burgess. During the summer, the three faced off in sudden death to determine the CGA Twin States champion with Burgess prevailing.
Team North Carolina will defend its team championship.
The two day event will be contested over the Vintage and Independent nines at Mt. Vintage.
